How to Paint a Valentine's Day Heart Using Intuitive Painting Techniques
Updated: Mar 4
I want to wish you a Happy Valentine's Day and offer a reminder that it's okay to celebrate all types of love on this holiday. As I've gotten older I've realized that romantic love isn't necessarily the most important love in my life. I celebrate friendship-love, familial love, self love, and love for humanity. I almost forgot one of the most important kinds of love and that is love for our pets! However and whomever you choose to celebrate this year I hope you have a lovely day!

Today I am posting a tutorial on how to paint a Valentine's Day heart! If you have been looking for a craft to do for yourself, or with your kids, this one is easy and fun. During the tutorial I'll talk about how to create an intuitive painting and I will explain what process painting means.
In the video below I am painting on a wooden heart I found at my local Dollar Tree store, but you can use these techniques on multiple surfaces and shapes. If you want to cut out a paper heart, paint on a piece of cardboard, or use a canvas, you can still complete this project. You will also need some acrylic paint and various paint brushes. Other supplies that would be helpful, but not absolutely necessary, would be a few paint markers. Follow along while you paint or watch first and paint later. The most important thing is to have fun!
